Aljoscha Tillmanns, a PhD student in history at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, visited the Alan Paton Centre and Struggle Archives on 05 October 2018, for the second time. In 2017, he had already spent more than two weeks at the APC, consulting archival material on Inkatha. In Essen, he is part of the postgraduate programme “Precaution, prevision, prediction: managing contingency” funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation). His PhD project is about Inkatha and its allies and their political action during the 1980s. On behalf of Lynn Oakley, he donated two digital copies of a 1987 video tape advertising the KwaZulu Natal Indaba.
