Prof. Chris Bolsmann is a South African sociologist and a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University Northridge in Los Angeles, visited the Alan Paton Centre on 17 July 2018. He has taught at universities in Britain and South Africa. He has published a range of journal articles and co-edited two books on South African sports history. He co-authored ‘English Gentlemen and World Soccer: Corinthians, Amateurism and the Global Game’ published by Routledge in 2018. He is currently working on a book project that considers the intersection of race and class in South African football history.
