The APC had the honour in assisting the 2 sons of Jock Isacowitz who was the a member of the Liberal Party in Johannesburg. His son Roy Isacowitz a retired journalist lives in Tel Aviv, Israel and Steven Isacowitz a retired medical doctor lives in Cape Town came to the APC on 15 March 2018 to do research. They are writing a book on Jock Isacowitz. They have grown up with great awareness of Jock’s role in World War 2, the Springbok Legion and the Liberal Party of South Africa, but their knowledge is mostly based on anecdotes from their mother and other people. Jock Isacowitz passed away in 1962 at the age of 46 years, Roy was 9 years old and Steven was only 6 years old. They are now setting out to try and get a fuller and more detailed picture of Jock’s life. They have seen the Leo Marquard and Margaret Ballinger papers at UCT after visiting the Alan Paton Centre, they are going to Wits University, as well as the Pretoria where the military archives are kept.
